I am Susan Kane, Executive Director for the Public School Retirement System of the City of St. Louis (“the retirement system”). As Executive Director, I am responsible for administering the day-to-day operations and business affairs of the retirement system.

“The mission of the Public School Retirement System of the City of St. Louis is to enhance the well-being and financial security of its members, retirees and beneficiaries through benefit programs and services which are soundly financed and prudently administered in an effective and efficient manner.”

As the administrator of a public trust fund, I have a fiduciary responsibility to every member. This means I must act on every member’s behalf with responsibility, knowledge, expertise, trust, good faith and honesty.

The retirement office is here to serve you and to provide you with the best possible customer service. I enjoy working with the membership, the Board of Trustees, employers and staff in prudently administering retirement benefits for all members.

I stand behind the retirement system’s mission and do my best to practice the principles inherent in my fiduciary responsibility. After all, serving the membership is the reason the retirement system exists.
